Covid-19 crisis update

We are endeavouring to provide all services, as far as practicable, during these challenging times. All RPC staff remain contactable via email and the main office telephone number (020 8725 1050) during normal office hours. Due to the current crisis will are having to prioritise urgent work. We aim to perform commissioning tests of all new X-ray equipment and can provide advice on the radiation protection implications of changes in radiological practice. We are aiming to resume routine work by September, where clients are willing to accommodate our visits. Please contact us by email or telephone if you wish to arrange your routine equipment testing or audit visits.

Training courses will resume from October. We have a limited number of classroom-based training courses available during the remainder of 2020 and details are available at www.sghrpc.co.uk/Courses.htm. We will follow government guidelines at all times during our training courses, which may limit capacity. Please contact our main office number to enquire about availability.

Our personal dose monitoring services and JPL calibration and repair laboratory are functioning as normal.

The John Perry Laboratory (JPL) is RPC's Calibration Laboratory

JPL specialises in calibrating dosemeters and kVp meters (invasive and non-invasive) that are used in the field of diagnostic radiology. JPL has been in operation since 1994 and is also certificated to ISO 9001:2015.

In 2009 JPL became the first laboratory of its kind in the UK to gain accreditation to ISO 17025 "General requirements for the Competence of calibration and testing laboratories".  In the UK, this is generally known as having UKAS accreditation. This accreditation shows that JPL carries out instrument calibrations to the stated accuracy and that these calibrations are fully traceable to primary national standards. Click on the UKAS logo, on the left, to see JPL's Schedule of Accreditation.
